That’s me. I am a marketing maven’s dream. Seriously, if you pound me with enough advertising, you’re bound to get somewhere with me. I hate admitting that because you might take that as an invitation to harass me….please don’t. Although, I will admit, I am full blown proof that social marketing works. If enough people tell me something is fantastic, and I can’t find any reason not to at least TRY it, I WILL. This recently happened with four things I am covering in this blog post: skincare by Glow Recipe, press-on nails, lip plumping lip gloss by City Beauty, and my ultimate favorite new obsession, Lashify DIY temporary lash extension system.
I am naturally a skeptic, but I like to think I’m pretty open-minded to try new things. Glow Recipe is a Korean beauty skincare brand sold at Sephora that I’ve been wanting to try for some time. I recently splurged and bought a few products, the Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask and a gift set that includes a Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser, Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask, and Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer. I’ve been hunting for the perfect eye cream, and I think I found it! I use this one at night and feel like it truly does what it advertises it does: moisturize, depuff, and minimize dark circles. I have extremely sensitive eye area due to my persistent eye eczema and this cream has not irritated my eyes AT ALL! I got was the Let It Glow gift set, which is an excellent value considering it is on sale for $39 and it has a full sized Watermelon Mask and Eye Mask and mini moisturizer! SUCH AN AMAZING DEAL! All the products are AHA products to provide gentle exfoliation and the moisturizer and masks are also filled with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants! My skin is SO happy when I use it! I am already addicted. Oh and the blueberry cleanser needs only the tiniest amount to be effective which is nice considering the size!
Next up in my reviews is my obsession with press on nails. Man, I tried to fight it with all of my willpower, but the other day at Walgreens, I caved. They were really cute and a few on sale. Well now I’m hooked on press-ons. They’re much better quality than I remember from the past. They look real! I’ve found they stay on much better when I use the glue both on my nail and on the fake nail. I have worn one pair about a week, the second one about 5 days, and now I’m on my third. I love them though because I hate typical fake nails. I want to rip them off, and can’t. This is the perfect happy medium! If you take a screenshot of the picture below, and open your LiketoKnowIt app it will link you to the products I used. But if that’s too much work, here, click here for Kiss nails or here for the Impress brand nails.
City Beauty lip gloss was a persistent advertiser on my Instagram feed, and I was just eating it up. They promised full lips and less aging if I just drank the snake oil. I was skeptical, but continued researching to make sure it wasn’t a scam. It didn’t seem to be! When it arrived, I immediately popped open the bottle and slapped that gloss on! It was thick and tacky, but holy wow, I immediately noticed results! I was immediately sold on it, but I’ll wait to run out of the Sun Diego and clear glosses I already bought. If you’re looking for a high shine, long-wearing, beautiful, plumping without tingling gloss, you’ve found it!
Now last, but certainly not least is my obsession with the Lashify DIY lash extension system. I accidentally bought the “A” set, when I wanted the “C” set which has a tighter curl, but it doesn’t even matter because these are life changing. They are SO LIGHT and so real looking. I love how they feel, how long they wear, and how easily they hold up to reuse, because at about $10 per wear as disposable lashes, I’d be broke! HA! They don’t promote the lashes as reusable, but they definitely can be. I’ve already cleaned a a few of mine! I have been wearing my glue on my lashes (over my tube mascara) and applying my lashes underneath the lash line, but let me tell you, this is WAY BETTER!!!!! I’m waiting for a new set to come in the mail and I’ll post more about it then!
Thanks so much for following along! Do you have anything you’re a sucker for on the radio or tv? Share with me!
