The other day, my friend Rita came over for her daughter’s photoshoot makeover and she told me she was happy to read my review on a product she recently bought. I winced a little because I hadn’t posted my true thoughts on that product, which I still regret. I received it as part of an Instagram “collaboration”, where the company asked me to not disclose how I received it. Shady. I know. I am still learning the whole influencer market, but I knew that didn’t sound right. I didn’t hate it right away, but after using it consistently, I didn’t have a superb opinion of it. It was just meh, and I told the company that that is why I never posted my review on their website since it was a new company attempting to grow and I couldn’t in good conscience inflate my review of their product because I couldn’t see myself ever using it again. They asked me to please not post my negative review and I left it at that.
With that experience I decided I would no longer censor my opinions about any other products. It’s not fair to the consumer market counting on people they like and trust to give honest opinions if the companies providing complimentary products are censoring the negative reviews. Anyhow, that leads me to my newest review. I decided to provide my blatantly honest review of this natural deodorant, Each&Every Natural Ingredient. Have any of you tried it?
In late August I received this Each&Every Natural Ingredient deodorant in the scent citrus & vetiver in an Influenster voxbox to try and review. The company has the environmental impact ethics I love & appreciate. The packaging was beautiful, and I love that it is an aluminum free natural ingredient product. I didn’t post my review right away because I still feel bad when I publicly state not enjoying something, but I need to get over it because I have a responsibility to inform the people, am I right?
Ok so here goes. All the positives above ring true, but as far as the product itself, I couldn’t wear it for longer than one day. I tried. I really tried guys. Anytime I picked it up, the strong musky citrus scent permeated my sinus cavities and made me nauseated. I had stuck it in my gym bag and the scent clung to my clothes in there too making me nauseous when I worked out. The day I wore it, I constantly looked around me to see what stinky man was standing near me. The citrus musk with a hint of sour pit sweat throughout the day was too much for me to handle. I sincerely apologize to those who I stood near that day. I’m also very sensitive to natural deodorants with baking soda so I developed a rash from it by the end of the day. I’m not sure if they have a sensitive formula, but I wouldn’t recommend the brand for anyone with a similar sensitivity otherwise.
So all in all, I had high expectations of finding a new favorite, but it was a no go. Maybe for a dude? It’s pretty dudely in smell. If you gave this brand a try already, let me know what you thought. And if not, tell me, what’s *your* favorite deodorant? 🧐
